Saint Vedanta Desika
India
18th century

height: 5.7 cm

Vedanta Desika is a 12th century saint and considered one of the most important Arcaryas in the Vaishnavite tradition.

Images of this saint are not common, and this small image is quite fine and in good condition for its age.

It has beautiful patina and wear from
puja rituals. The saint sits cross legged on a raised plinth. The right hand is in vitarka-mudra.
