Silver-Inlaid Singha Betel Cutters

This cutter with knopped plain silver handles is of a winged lion (singha bersajap) with a flaming mane. The body is decorated in silver wire with the Balinese
banji pattern; a sun burst is near the tail, the rest is incised with fine cross-hatching.

Provenance: acquired at Christie’s, Auction of the Estate of Adrian Noe, Jakarta 1996.
