This taza comprises a circular dish with a serrated and open-work rim on a gently tiered pedestal; the bowl being incised with a series of concentric circles.
Tazas such as these were used in Malay households to raise food off the floor to hand level. Traditionally Malays ate with their hands sitting on the floor. They
were also used at weddings to display gifts.
