This very fine bracelet is of solid silver and has been decorated with large and small granulation work and the application of wire work in flower-like roundels. It is heavy in the hand and of robust construction. It is hinged and opens when a pin, which is attached to the bracelet by means of a heavy silver chain, is pulled out.

The bangle has similarities to silverwork undertaken in Yemen and almost certainly is from Yemen. An almost identical example published in van Cutsem (2002, p. 159) is attributed to Afghanistan but that seems unlikely.

The example here is stable, wearable and has obvious age.
