Lacquer Betel Box

This round box, in red and black lacquer is typically Shan in decoration and hue. Decorated with figures within scrolling borders and with a lower applied
beaded frieze that is common among Shan lacquerwork, the box was made to store betel leaves and other components of the betel quid.

The box is in a fine condition with only a few losses to the lacquer surface.
