Ottoman Calligrapher’s Silver Inlaid Scissors

The scissors are finely decorated all over with flowers and scrolling foliage, all in
inlaid silver. The handles are of tear-drop form. Scissors such as these were used to
trim paper (perhaps newly copied copies of the Koran), create
muraqqa’ folios and in
book binding.
