Polychrome Lacquered Lidded Wooden Flask
Sindh/Pakistan

This elegant flask or vase comes from the Sindhi area of what was India, now Pakistan.  The spherical base sits on a small ring foot. The long neck widens as
it reaches the top. The wooden base has been engraved and lacquered in red, orange and black. The lid has a small carved ivory finial.

The flask represents a pleasing example of colonial arts encouraged by the British during the time of their administration.
