Michael Backman Ltd
About the Gallery
The Gallery holds London's largest range of South and East Asian artifacts. It  was
established by Michael Backman, a writer and columnist on Asia, and a long-time
collector of Asian art objects.

(For more information about Backman's books and other writing, click
here.)

The Gallery utilises his wide knowledge about Asia - its history, many cultures,
politics and trade -  permitting a more complete understanding of the cultural,
social and historical context of the assembled objects.

The Gallery offers rare and unusual objects in new and interesting collecting areas
such as Malay brassware, Central Asian artifacts, betel paraphernalia and Islamic
art from Southeast Asia, as well as more conventional fare.

The online catalogue is fully up-to-date and with all items shown available now.
