The Gallery's Straits Chinese items are not sourced from Southeast Asia but mostly from the United Kingdom. Many such objects came to the UK during the colonial era and have been in the UK since. This provenance helps to guard against reproductions. It also means that our pieces are new to the Southeast Asian antique market.
We frequently send objects to collectors in Singapore and Malaysia. Usually we use Federal Express for this. Items are sent with full insurance and with a tracking number so that their progress can be tracked. Items generally reach our customers in Southeast Asia within a few days.
We guarantee all of our Nonya porcelain (when we have it in stock - it always sells quickly) as having been made prior to the 1930s and will provide an immediate refund in respect of any item that can be shown to be later. Also see Chinese Export Silver & Export & Other Chinese.
