SOLD

Repoussed Silver Beaker

Burma

circa 1880

height: 10cm, diameter: 9cm, weight: 237g

This elegant cup or beaker rises from a small flat base, with gently curved sides. It is repoused in high relief with figures in traditional Burmese dress amid trees and an umbrella, and over a wide acanthus leaf border. The background has been finely tooled.

The repousse and engraving work is all of a high quality. The beaker has a good weight and is of good quality silver.
