This oval, solid silver tray is finely chased all over with the Islamic-inspired dense foliage and flower work that is typical of colonial Indian Cutch silver work of the late nineteenth century. Four animals including a hare and a lion have been added to the design.

The rim features a border of fine leafy open-work and a rim of repeated flower motifs.

There is no maker’s mark. The condition is excellent.
