Repoussed Silver Round Lidded Box
height: 7cm, diameter: 8.5cm, weight: 172g
This fine round silver box and cover is repoussed around the sides with eight panels each filled with a different bird in a different pose. The lid is slightly domed and has a central panel repoussed in high relief with what is likely to be a king or prince with a consort and perhaps a courtier surrounded by leafy flourishes. The edge of the scene is decorated with a fine lotus petal border.
The base is plain and unmarked.
The box is in excellent condition and without holes.
