Silver Repoussed Rosewater Sprinkler

Cutch, India, circa 1880

length: 25.5cm

This unmarked rosewater sprinkler is repoussed, cast and chased very much in the Cutch style. The pierced head is in the shape of a flower. The stem and body are decorated with scrolling flowers and foliage typical of Cutch silver work. There is a small blank armorial cartouche to one side.

Condition is commensurate with age. The body is free of significant dents; the neck rises at a sleight angle however.
