This container is finely worked with grapes, vine and leaf designs, with a central poppy/lotus motif on the lid and borders of scrolling vines and flowers elsewhere, all in silver

bidri work.

A hookah base worked with similar design is in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, (inventory no. M.2001.101) and illustrated in

Arts of Asia, July-August, 2002, p. 32.
