Pair of silver architectural column candlesticks, Kandy, Central Sri Lanka, late 19th century.

Solid, unmarked silver. The bases and possibly the columns have been weighted with natural resin/pitch. Each stick weighs around 1 kilogram each but that includes the resin weighting. Each is 34cm high. The bases are 12.5cm square. There are no dents, splits or repairs. The bases have a recent felt covering. Acquired from within the UK.
