This

khon dok is repoussed with lotus petals and with 12 niches each with a figure in traditional Thai dress on the bowl and with 8 niches similarly filled on the base. The middle section comprises a collar decorated top and bottom with lotus petals.

The base and bowl are stamped with shop marks in both Thai and Chinese script.

Pedestal vases or

khan doks are used to hold flower decorations and are often placed on altars and before Buddha images and relics as part of religious ceremonies. They are used in the north and northeast of Thailand.
