Mango-shaped Indian Hookah
SOLD
Small Portable Bronze Mango-shaped Hookah
Northern India
18th century
length: 12cm
This small but relatively heavy portable hookah is cast in the shape of a mango. It was designed to be portable – for a lady to hold in the palm of her hand. It has an excellent brown patina, and is a solid, pleasing piece.
A hookah of similar form is in Copenhagen’s David Collection (inventory no. 12/1991).
