    UK art market

This beautiful pair of earrings has been constructed from gold wire and dozens of baroque and probably Basra pearls.

The pearls are arrayed around a gold wire hoop in two rows and then there is a pendant array of pearls suspended from the lower hoop.

Pearls, in Indian jewellery, are associated with water and women, and to have healing powers.

Pearl earrings of this type often were made in Jaipur or Bikaner.

There are no discernible losses or repairs. The earrings are wearable.
