This unusual hookah base of heavily chased silver that has been partly gilded is in a classical bell shape.

It sits sturdily on its flat base, and is decorated with pine-cone like lotus petals, floral sprays and a band of floral and foliage scrollwork.

Overall, it is a splendid, decorative and unusual piece, with decoration not before encountered in Indian silver work
