This fine gold ring from northern India and Mughal in style, dates to the 19th century and possibly earlier.

The gold tests to at least 22 carats, and it is set with a large square-shaped, emerald cabochon and on each side are two small ruby cabochons, and a tear-shaped diamond cabochon.

The hoop is unusual – a comprises plaited and pieced gold wire work, which is particularly appealing.

The ring is stable and wearable. It has ample signs of age.
