New Podcast: The Art of Traditional African Currencies

We have a new podcast – on forms of traditional African currency.

These types of currency, generally made of cast iron or copper alloy, were used to buy land, brides, slaves, livestock and goods.

In this podcast, Michael Backman & Sarah Corbett discuss the forms, uses, and aesthetic value of these various currencies.
